The Rite of Misraim consists of three degrees.

1.) The Apprentice

2.) The Companion

3.) The Master

Together they comprimise the Symbolic Lodge.

The Misraim (Egyptian) Rituals that we use date back to at least 1788. In Venice in 1788 the famous occultist and Freemason; Calgliostro and a group of Socinian Protestant constituted the Rite of Misraim. The Rite of Misraim has been closely associated with other Rites throughout time. The Scottish Rectified Rite, The Rite of Strict Observance and the Rite of Swedenbourg amongst them.

The Rite itself is very esoteric and occult in nature. It is very powerful and has been described as "emotionally exhausting." In other words it is not for the faint of heart. Unlike the Preston-Webb or Emulation rituals that are commonly used throughout the USA and UK, the Rite of Misraim is more of a niche player if you will.

We have all fallen in love with this Rite. It has much in common with Hermetic practice and other forms of Egyptian ceremonial magick. Chances are that a practitioner of Eastern ceremonial magick would recognize more when witnessing this Rite than your average "blue lodge" Mason.

The mysteries of ancient esoterika do lay deep within the Rite.
