F.A.Q.

Q: What is Freemasonry?
A: There will be as many answers to this question as there are Masons. To some, Freemasonry is a men's fraternal society. To others, it is a progressive science illustrated by symbols. To the membership of Lodge Napoleon Bonaparte, Freemasonry is a progressive science, an arcane school and a repository of ancient knowledge.
Q: Can women be Freemasons?
A: Within the our lodge absolutely yes! We make no seperation of humanity based on gender, race, sexual preference, class, social standing or religion.
Q: Do you use the designation Co-Masonic?
A: No. We seek to break down barriers and dividers amongst Freemasons and the greater body of humanity. We feel that adding a prefix to the terms Mason or Freemasonry serves only to divide us. Within our lodge all of us are Freemasons, we are all Brothers.
A: Do I have to believe in God in order to join?
Q: No. Once again we understand that someone does not have to be a believer in any dogma or institution in order to be able to receive the light of Freemasonry. In fact your belief or lack of is considered strictly your own. We don't even ask.
Q: What Rituals do you use?
A. We work in the original speculative Rite of Misraim and the operative Egyptian Rite.
Q: In operative do you mean working with stone.
A: No, those would be operative Stonemasons. We are operative Freemasons. What this means is we work in the operative magic Masonic arts. These include the physical alchemy of the Egyptian Rite.
Q: What Grand Lodge do you belong to?
A: None. As a Post-Modern lodge we do not see value in the Grand Lodge system. We do not recognize the authority of any Grand Lodge and thus we are not recognized by them.
Q: I am a member of another Masonic order currently. Do I have to demit in order to become a member of Lodge Napoleon Bonaparte?
A: As a grown adult what you do and what organizations you belong to is up to you as long as you are not a member of any order that is illegal or advocates terrorism . We do not tell you what you can do with your own time and energy. We respect our members and treat them as adults.
Q: Can I visit Lodge Napoleon Bonaparte?
A: You may feel free to inquire via our Lodge Secretary at secretary@lodgenapoleon.com . It is up to our lodge members to decide who will and will not be granted visitation.
Q: I have read that person X on an Internet forum is a member of your lodge. Can you verify this?
A: Our membership is private. Who is or who is not a member of Lodge Napoleon Bonaparte is only the business of the membership. We leave it up to our members to decide if /when or ever to make their membership public knowledge.
Q: Are Masons elitist?
A: Not these Masons. In fact we actively combat elitism wherever we encounter it. We are all human beings with common interests, ideas and pursuits. Nothing more.
Q: What is the purpose of Freemasonry?
A: To build a better planet, one living stone at a time.
